So I was shooting my Keltec P3AT at the range today with my mom. I wanted her to feel comfortable firing a gun since it's been awhile for her. Well, she was firing the P3AT, and after the second shot to my horror, I saw the recoil spring (the small one) projecting half way out the front of the gun! :yikes2: I've never had this happen before.
So I field stripped the gun and of course it has 2 recoil springs (big and small) and since the small one was the one going through the little hole, I grabbed some needle nose pliers and "unwound" the end of the spring just a little so there would no chance of it projecting out.
Has this happened to anyone? What's the best solution to fixing it? Thanks.

You need to call kel tec customer service. Some of them had peening issues in the guide rod hole. It would eventually wear out and the spring would pop through like yours did. You will have to end up sending the slide back and they will replace it.
