Another vote for the Kahr line. I alternate between the K40 and CW45. My wife shoots the .40 without any problem and she's a trim girl.

My 2 cents. Wife really likes my shield 9mm. She has a Rainbow Titanium Sig Sauer P238 its a .380 ACP but is vey hard to shoot accurately as its so small and frustrates her so I have offered to let her have my S&W M&P Shield which she shoots well. Price on PSA is is unbeatable @ $350.00. It is very safe and I shoot incredible & so does she with it but have upgraded to 10mm.
