I went into Dongs once. I was the only customer in the store and no one offered to say hello, boo or anything. I had to make them show me a gun and then he took it back immediately and put it back under glass.

I could only assume that they did not need to make sales to stay in business. There were at least four or five guys in there and they were all just BSin.

So I just got my FFL and don't have to deal with them any more, not that I would have gone back.

That pretty much summarizes my experiences with them.

I like Dongs, have dealt with them 35+ years. I like the fact they ignore me. atleast they say Hi Ed everytime I come in.
It lets me shop in peace not like some shops where they follow you around thinking your going to steal something. If I want something I'll speak up and ask for it. Some of their reloading supplies are cheaper than ordering online.
some of their other stuff is crazy high. I bought a Galco holster there the other day $20 cheaper than any other place I could find.
I hate Bass Pro that place is so dimly lit it gives me a headache trying to see the merchandise.

Mark at Sooner Guns is a good guy. You got to realize if you put in a massive inventory then you have to hire help and thats when everybody starts complaining about the attitudes.

Been in OPS several times and never got so much as a "Hi how ya doin'" or a "can I help ya"
Went in there a couple days ago to ask a question only seemed to be 1 worker and several BSers. I ended up going in the uniform dept to ask my question.

Dong's beckons and awaits the opportunity to pick your pockets. No gun store can be all things to all firearms afficionados.

I dont know which products that would be Ed. The newest owner of Dongs seems to enjoy selling his inventory at a 10,000% mark up. They price gouged everybody so bad during the ammo scare that I will never go in there again. I have been buying stuff from Dong's since Dong owned the place. I am through going in there for the rest of my life. We never really had an ammo shortage here in Tulsa. There were a few Wal marts that were having trouble keeping stuff on the shelves , but , there was always 380 and other calibers to be had somewhere reasonable around Tulsa. You couldnt tell it by going to Dong's though. They had primers priced like they were the last ones ever to be manufactured again. At one time they wouldnt even let you buy primers unless you were buying bullets also.

I have been doing business with all of them since I was a little kid. My favorite is Bill's out in Claremore. I may not consider some of the others as my favorite , but , I wont bad mouth them like Dong's deserves to be.

I've heard Bill's is a good place, and have been suggested several time to go there to look for something. The issue is, its a bit of a drive, and for that I'll just order online where I know I can get something at a reasonable price.

Honestly what Tulsa needs is a Gun Shop that: Has a good selection of all types of firearms, sufficient reloading and casting supplies, friendly service, competitive pricing, and employees that ENJOY their jobs.

Lash's filled that role, now I don't know if anyone does... Anyone name ANY shop that does that?
