I miss Lash's too. Good selection of guns, reloading supplies and equipment, etc. and no poodles. Sooner guns seems to be catering to a particular, limited market. I asked about reloading stuff and was told his insurance didn't like it.

May just not feel like stocking a ton of stuff and never knowing if you are going to sell it. You can always unload guns if business looks bad, but the reloading stuff can tie up a lot of money and be hard to unload quickly.

Unfortunately the attitude at Dong's seem to be prevalent at a lot of gun stores. Too bad, sure drives off those just getting started, youth, women, etc. I just wonder how they stay in business.

I'm really looking forward to 2A (the new indoor range) opening soon. They are supposed to be handing out flyers at the show this weekend.

Ed, I am surprised you had this experience. OPS is good as gold. Next time just speak up. I have had better experience with them than any other store in town. The guys there like and KNOW what they are doing.

Medlock's is really good too. I have only bought a couple of guns from them, but they very nice and had good prices.

I'd give OPS another chance. They are a big part of the shooting community, and Rick, Eric and the guys do a lot to take care of a lot of people. Go back in, and you may find shortl find yourself one of the guys BSing. :naughty:

I like Dongs, have dealt with them 35+ years. I like the fact they ignore me. atleast they say Hi Ed everytime I come in.
It lets me shop in peace not like some shops where they follow you around thinking your going to steal something. If I want something I'll speak up and ask for it. Some of their reloading supplies are cheaper than ordering online.
some of their other stuff is crazy high. I bought a Galco holster there the other day $20 cheaper than any other place I could find.
I hate Bass Pro that place is so dimly lit it gives me a headache trying to see the merchandise.

Mark at Sooner Guns is a good guy. You got to realize if you put in a massive inventory then you have to hire help and thats when everybody starts complaining about the attitudes.

Been in OPS several times and never got so much as a "Hi how ya doin'" or a "can I help ya"
Went in there a couple days ago to ask a question only seemed to be 1 worker and several BSers. I ended up going in the uniform dept to ask my question.

Honestly what Tulsa needs is a Gun Shop that: Has a good selection of all types of firearms, sufficient reloading and casting supplies, friendly service, competitive pricing, and employees that ENJOY their jobs.

Sounds just like Sportsworld!

Yeah , if you leave out this part.

Sportsworld originated from the old Southern Hills pro shop back when there was skeet and trap fields there. Some of the employees down there are great people for sure. However the owner and his wife and their son that works there sometimes arent that friendly . Call down there sometime and ask for a price on something over the phone. They act as though you are really putting them out. I have called them a few times and gotten this type of treatment over the yrs. If it werent for some of the guys I know very well working there I would never go in there.

Wow, they have always been extremely friendly to me, even when I have my 10 yr old son with me. The dad can be grumpy.
