These usually get shot down for being arbitrary taxes, such as the one gruppenführer Bloomberg tried to do on taxing large soft drinks.

When you start telling people that the gov can start taxing you for meats with high fat content, snack foods, fast cars, soft drinks, etc., then it sudden;y affects them and they don't want it to start with bullets.

A voter ID card is too much of a burden to protect voting(it infringes on the poor and incapable), but taxing the hell out of firearms and ammunition so only the rich can practice the second amendment seems logical. These people really have thought this through......

hm.....point of fact that Bloomberg didnt try to tax he just tried to abolish the super drinks

Or the fact we've alread paid state and federal taxes on our money up front, and have to pay it again each time we make a purchase.

Ahhhhh...

Don't forget about the county and city - they get a cut of the action too...

And for some there's HOA's who take a little piece of one's pie every year (man I hate HOA's).
