...He only works half a day because he is getting ready to retire. Very pleased with him and his legal assistant.

You will need to update your trust over time.

As good as he may be, what are you going to do once he's gone? Will transitioning your existing trust to a new lawyer be cheap/easy, or will you have to 'start-over'?
(I am in this exact situation....)

I would recommend considering a 'law firm' that does this type work, with several people to work with. This avoids the 'Single-Point-Failure' for your support.

I have no suggestions, only considerations.
Good luck.

funny you should mention it...

I just got an advertisement in the mail from a firm out of OKC that is offering 4 free workshops in Lawton. Oct 3-4.

I have NO knowledge of them
I have NO financial interest in them.
Just passing on the info.

Says you can register online at: oath.law/workshops

Does anyone know how know of the costs involved?

If a married couple only has one Heir, is a Trust really needed?
IMO, no. Trusts have a multitude of different uses, but a simple Will is enough in most cases if everything is straight forward and all. I'm no expert though, this is just my opinion based on my limited knowledge.
I'm doing a Will, with, as you said, only 1 person to get it all.
