I know that Ferguson plumbing got to take all their fixtures that had lead in them to the scrap yard.

Most wheelweights and fishing sinkers aren't lead any more either so be careful if you melt your own lead for casting.
mtnboomer your post made me think.....i have been seperating the damned zinc weights from my lead alloy ones but was thinking the zinc melting point was a lot higher so if I accidentally got one in the mix...no big deal. Should have checked this before....its only about 100 degrees higher. I like to do a lot of casting using a dual fuel coleman stove so its hard to control the temp. Going to have to be a lot more careful now.

If you stay and watch the lead melt slowly you can skim off the clips and the zinc weights will be floating.
And those lead anchors you get are not lead.
