The only time jacketed bullets in my .45's are used is once a year when I rotate my carry ammo for new,otherwise its lead only,1/2 pure 1/2 wheel weights cast mix.Lube is beeswax and lithium grease.

+1 to all above. No issues with my S&W 4506 and 230 grain semi wad cutter or truncated cone (really like this bullet shape when I can find it) lead bullets. My opinion is at .45ACP velocities, you don't even need super hard cast bullets. I have had no barrel leading issues with .45ACP or .38 special for that matter either. I reserve the hardcast for magnum velocities.
