The instructions for the Lee Powder Dispenser say for the first time you use it to fill it with powder and drain it so as to coat the insides. This seems to be a pain. Is it really necessary?

never did it with mine and haven't had a problem. but if you do, i'd turn the dial all the way out. should be able to throw 100+ grains at a time and run through all the powder in no time.

I had the LEE Perfect Powder Measure. I didnt do that and I never had a problem. Considering how cheaply it was built, it was a really good measure. Dropped powder very consistently.

Maybe certain powders stick to the powder measure more than others when used for the first time. So they say to do it for the first time to cover themselves on all powders.

How much could it hurt? :P
Heck just do it and go on.
Maybe 5 minutes of your time, plus you get the feel of the machine.
Generally speaking the guys at Lee are no nonsense guys.
Maybe they found where it helps somewhere down the line.:burnout:
