Never said I wouldn’t personally jump in and lend aid. I’m just not wired in a way that allows me to stand there with one hand holding my stupid cell phone taking a video instead of helping someone in need with the thumb from the other shoved up my keister. I am surprised in today’s litigious age that citizens can be ordered by a police officer that “hopefully has good judgement” to put themselves in a dangerous situation. That has to open police/sheriff departments up to all sorts of liabilities.

If you arrive and an LEO is in trouble and you do not know them but have seen and know the LEO is lawfully doing their job, you have the same right to step in and help as if you knew them. That does not protect you from injury, death or a civil suit. You do not have to know the third person in law to step in and protect them, just be right that you are helping the right side in a situation.
