I'm a firm believer that when you reach the age of 65, you should have your DL renewed annually and you should be required to take a written and driving test every year prior to renewal of your license.

I'm a firm believer that 99.99% of the people who are behind the steering wheel of a four wheeler are incompetent and lack the sense of a rock and should walk to their destination instead of endangering others. This in turn would make my job much less stressful. However, I do enjoy the swerve and weave show I usually get to see each Friday a.m. on the northbound side of I-35 near Riverwind Casino. It was classic watching the guy in the black Escalade lay paint and sparks along the concrete retaining wall one night while his wife/girlfriend bounced around in the passenger seat like a ragdoll. I was going to call *55 but doing so would violate the FMCSA rule on using a cell while operating a commercial vehicle. So I just watched the show. :)

On a related topic, a crappy beat-up pickup turned off a highway in front of me with no signal, causing me to have to stop halfway through pulling out onto said highway. I honked in surprise, and my 5 year old daughter saw my reaction. Does this mean I will have a grandson with a dog collar?

I was walking into the grocery store yesterday and had to stop and stare as an old woman in a shmancy SUV took no less than 4 minutes to park in spot that was big enough to park a friggin' dump truck in. The monkey and the proverbial football. Much funnier than the time the old woman ran the stop sign and hit me, though.

Another funny one was the old bag that ramped the plastic bumper of her car up on a high curb and then backed up, loosening the aforementioned plastic bumper in the process and leaving it hanging there in some sad, impermanent limbo. When I came back out from lunch the entire thing was lying in the street and her car was gone.
