Eliminates the need for chief LEO signature and finger prints, but other than that, it allows for you to have your family members (or friends I guess) on the Trust and thus the ability to possess the Class 2/3 item legally without you being there (and when I die, I can pass my class 2/3 stuff on to my kids without the hassle of a transfer fee as they are already on my trust).

Looks like my next C3 is going to be individual. Good info guys. Maybe somebody should throw together an updated post and see if a Mod will sticky it in the NFA section.

I was not aware the rules about engraving had changed which is an important factor for me.

There is no fee for a transfer upon death for any NFA items. They will all transfer on a tax free form 5 whether trust or individual.

It would be beneficial to your heirs to have the form 5s completed with an instruction note with your trust. I don't, but I should.
