So far it seems to function well (dry-fires, seems to chamber rounds and eject them properly - did it 30-times and seems a bit stiff to extract, but it got looser as I went).

I've taken down the BCG and cleaned thoroughly and checked/double checked everything about it. I'm pretty sure nothing bad will happen when I test fire tomorrow, but then again, I've said "I'm pretty sure" a lot during this build and been wrong.


Now I just need a real optic and to get a matching VFG so I can take the fake one off.

Stewball - I'm interested in how you like that Bushnell Holosight as well.

No need to - its just a single-shot. I just said the hell with a gas-tube and semi-auto and all - one shot, one kill!





I'm just kidding, I spliced the two carbine gas-tubes together like you said.

BTW - functioned flawlessly with both 556 and .223 ammo and was actually much more accurate than I thought it would be with 55gr .223 considering the 1/7 twist barrel.

Iron sights seem to put a 10" pattern on the target at 100yds - crappy red dot seems to line up with irons and does ok - need to upgrade it though.

Without the fake Surefire VFG, its actually extremely lightweight.
