Letter To The Editor Illustrates Extent Of Anti-Gun Arguments
Posted at 10:00 am on February 9, 2018 by Tom Knighton

..."This is the crux of the anti-gun argument; the only thing stopping gun control is the powerful NRA."...

..."But that’s the crux of the anti-gun argument. Appeals to emotion are the single greatest “weapon” they have, mostly because the facts really aren’t on their side and they know it."

While I disagree that history has a wrong side(so to speak), the anti-gun-pro-subjugation crowd would surely like you to think the Founding Fathers got it wrong on all counts. Subjugation can only exist under some form of dictatorship, and socialism is the easiest route toward that end. Our constitution does not provide a path toward socialism and, in fact, assures the people the means to ward off any such usurpation of power that would take us in that or any other direction not in compliance with the Constitution.

Never surrender the tools that afford you the means to preserve freedom.

A few years ago there was a marine veteran who wrote a letter to Nancy Pelosi which was released to the press as well, basically said that he will not comply with a renewed “assault weapons ban” that she was pursuing at the time because “unconstitutional ‘laws’ are not laws.” With the exception of writing letters and drawing attention to myself, I agree completely. If I recall correctly his name was Josh

Our Constitution was usurped in the 30's with Roosevelt's New Deal, probably before that with Woodrow Wilson. Our Gov't has been in direct non-compliance with the Constitution for decades, Balanced budget/Gov't Shutdown anybody?

But it's Cool, Congress passed short term legislation and our nation is funded till Dec. 7, Dec. 22, Jan. 19, Feb. 8, March 23.

Yep. You can't expect a body of "representatives" who openly violate the COTUS, to uphold the COTUS. It flies in the face of logic.

Appeals to emotion are the single greatest “weapon” they have, mostly because the facts really aren’t on their side and they know it" in letters to the editor and in the social media. The folks at Twitter's #guncontrol are taking their usual SOP and blaming the gun, the NRA, Trump, etc. and not finding the relevant reason(s) for this tragic/horrendous event. Luckily there are those that are trying to reason with them and are trying show that there are more germane reason(s)(the majority of which gun control legislation is ineffective) for the shooting:
