I’m just in lust over the belt of .45-70 cartridges.

Here is another shot of the 45-70 bandolier and the leather shell carrier. This was before I put the new trigger and sights on the Marlin. HIGHLY recommend the Wild West Happy Trigger and Skinner Sights.

The revolver is a Smith & Wesson Model 629 (no dash) that the late great, Larry Kelly ported and tuned.

If Edmond ever gets invaded by brown bears, I may have a chance.

No deer were hurt in the making of this post but a sweet ol Marlin nonetheless.

Hard to pin down the year but Marlin Collectors website gets me close. There are conflicting features squirling up the dates. 1924 or 1925 is the consensus from the most knowledgable I know. This is the most recent manufacture of my vintage Marlins.

Looks like it wants to be a Winchester.

I have a late 50's (1958?, can't remember at the moment) Marlin 336 RC in .30-30 that dad started me out hunting on. He gave the rifle to me a few years ago. I've always been a bit of a Winchester fan, but that 336 is stinking butter slick...even noticeably more so than my 1929 Winchester 94.

I will be in the market for an antique 1873 Winchester someday, but if I had to buy a utilitarian/hunting levergun, it would be a JM stamped Marlin.

I also am fortunate enough to have a Marlin 30 AS from the 80's that isn't bad either. To finish my limited lever gun collection, I have a newer Browning BL-22 and Henry Lever Carbine, but those are both rimfires.

Really hard to beat the enjoyment of a good levergun.
