Last one. My screen saver:-). Reception is bad here. That is a Marlin Ballard out front… Lever of sorts, right?
Made between 1871-1891. I shot this one at the Quigley. Its a 40-63. I designed the bullet and had the mold made for this. I had to neck turn all the brass since the chambers for these were cut for “Everlasting brass” (very thick-walled brass). First Ballard I ever owned.

I noticed the price on the Ruger's about tripled since they're making them now, must be part of Biden's "GREAT RIP-OFF" price gouging agenda.
They’re all in on it too. There’s emails with ruger Ceo and the WEF discussing bringing up the prices to deny families the pure plinking pleasure they deserve.

I’ve sold at least 30 Marlin and a few other levers. Don’t think I ever bought (or sold) one I wouldn’t have liked to keep. But I got into Marlin Ballards and something had to fund the habit. I’ve got some nice pictures and a few I just couldn’t part with.

These are all Marlins, from turn of the century, I think 1992 through 1906. Mostly Model 1893s and 1894, but one 1892. The 40-65 is an 1895. Calibers are 40-65, 38-55, 32-40, 32-20 and a 22 caliber.

I used to have a Marlin 1894 but a boss I had at the time (1981) asked me to sell it to him (and a Walther PPK/s) ... wish I had that rifle back.

Right now I have a Winchester 94 Trapper in 44 magnum and a Marlin 1895 GSBL which is a 45-70. The Winchester has a Williams Sight on it and the Marlin has a Skinner Sight and a Wild West Happy Trigger. The sights on both act as "ghost rings" making them super easy to get on target.

Once you get one ... you will want more. Something about racking the lever that will put a smile on your face.

Enjoy the adventure.
