Crappy pic of the gun but all I have.....Marlin 30AS
Man, every time I see those, I get the SBR bug. Must resist......
Little collection going.
Reviving an old thread. But I have a recent obsession with lever guns. My first was a rossi Rio grande with a fixed 4 power that I bought for 250$ with 100 rounds of ammo. I shot it until I got my winchester then realized what a 30-30 was suppose to shoot like and I traded it off. My next lever gun Is an 89 top eject winchester that I traded my mommy a 10/22 takedown for. Mom has arthritis and cant shoot like she use to. This was my mom's 1 rifle since the early 90s. I love this rifle and can't believe how light and handy it is. And finally a new 336Y with 16 inch barrel and synthetic stock. Still to come for the 336 is a scout rail, scope, and ghost ring sights. I like the idea of a 30-30 scout since I'm a lefty and other people in my family can utilize it just as efficiently as I can being right handed.
Nice. Now I have to dig mine out of the corner of the safe where it sits undisturbed just to take a pic for this thread today.
Nice leverguns cal7.62x39. Only one I have left these days is a replica 1876 Winchester chambered in 45-60...went that route so I could cut down 45-70 brass to shoot the thing.
While I wish I had my Marlin 1894 back, I do enjoy my Winchester 44mag Trapper. Thinking about getting a Taylors & Company 1892. When one racks that lever, can't help but smile.
Here's and quick photo of the lever actions I currently have out of the safe in line to be cleaned.
left to right:
Uberti 1873 clone "deluxe" 20" octagonal barrel, high grade walnut, action job and super short stroke, in 357 Mag (we shoot 38's), custom large bead front sight, filed buckhorn rear. Custom Leather Wrap, lightened gate spring for easier loading for the kiddo.
Uberti 1873 clone Carbine, 18" octagonal carrel, standard grade straight stock, Cody Conagher actions job, 357, custom large front bead sight
Uberti 1873 close "deluxe" 20" Octagonal barrel, high grade walnut, action job and short stroke, in 357 Mah Custom Large front Bead Sight, filled down rear buckhorn
Henry Golden Boy, octagonal barrel, Short Stroked, 22LR or 22 short, 20" barrel
Henry Golden Boy, Totally Stock (it's out of the safe to be short stroked), 22lr or 22short, 20" barrel
Henry Classic lever in 22lr. (this thing is a tack driver!)
1973 Winchester 9422 in 22WMR. Totally stock and will stay that way. This was handed town to my daughter from her grandfather.
The 73 was always one of my favorites, aviator.
