I just drove a 97 Chevy Astro home for a farmers market project. I'm not sure if I still have a man card.
I feel the same way when I see my cousins nostalgia funny car run.
Mark Stuckey nitro charger.

He said his Nitro stang was quicker.

The first nhra I went to in Tulsa back about 1980 I fell in love with the nitro drag cars. You could feel the power all the way through your body when they roared down the track.

I have broke every chevy rearend I ever had.

But they were stock.
9" fords in all my hot rods and stock I have not broke them but 1 time.

The 10 bolt rearends I see survive are only using the GM housing and all the guts are aftermarket.
And you better weld the axle tubes if you are making it HOOK!
12 bolt gm rears broke just as easy for me.
In my 4x4 Chevy truck with 40" inch tires and a built 427 big block I run a Chevy 14 bolt rear end with 4.88 gears and a Detroit locker, it's survived many burnouts over the years, in the front I have a Dana 60.

I have replaced axle seals in a Dana 60 and the size of the spider gears and the diameter of the axles makes other rearend parts look dinky.
