Been feeding corn and planting food plots since August with lots of deer pictures and several mature bucks, but the older bucks just wouldn't come out in day time. Usually I would sit back and let the big boys do what they want and if they show up when I'm there then good if not oh well. A friend told me about Big and J deer attractant and I had seen it on commercials and not payed much attention to it but he said it works you should try it. I picked up a couple bags of it and on opening day of muzzle loader I put some out about 1pm at the spot that I had been getting pics of a buck I wanted to harvest, never had a day time picture, had a north wind all day and that evening I went out with gun in hand not expecting much. About 6:10 a doe came out but didn't stay long, as soon as she walked off a young 4 point comes from the south straight to the Big and J, he lasted about 2 minutes when the buck I was after comes out down wind from the stuff like a ghost. Couldn't believe my eyes, never had a day light picture of him and he's out at 6:15 pm, was it the "long range deer attractant" or was I just there at the right time? Maybe it does work.
