Lookiing for a good 22LR pistol...

I want a good 22LR pistol for not a lot of moolah. I'v never owned a 22 pistol so I'm not sure what a goodun is.

I don't wanna spend alot. Maybe $200-$300 or so. I prefer something by Ruger or S&W, but I'll consider others as well.

Find a Ruger Mark II or Mark III.

That was the first one that came to mind. I also thought about a S&W Victory, but I think they are out of my price range.

The S&W is a nice little pistol but the Rugers are classic and readily available for what you desire to spend. Here is a Smith with dot for 325.

We have had a couple of guys show up at the steel challenge matches with the victory, and they have had issues. Don't know if it was break in, or ammo related, but they parted ways with them pretty quickly.

For plinkin', ya might consider a Heritage .22LR SA revolver. Atwoods often has 'em on sale for less than $120 (low as $109 last year).

You will love the MK IV, mount a reflex type sight on it, they are amazing.
