My neighbor, a widow lady, has multiple years of proof set coins and want to sell them. Anyone know of a good coin dealer in the Oklahoma City area?

Sadly it is not likely you get what they are worth from any dealer. Especially as a bulk lot. Don't know if you have time to do the research on the value but it would be better to put on eBay or maybe here.

I know that, but when she called me, it sounded like she want to sell them all pretty quick. I may have to go over there and do an inventory, and invest in a book in order to find out a reasonable value.

My dad sold a big collection of proof sets at auction and they did quite well. They brought quite a bit more than a dealer would've.

Well sometimes the books are like the gun value books (way off). It could turn out to be a lot of work. She could have a error set or so something else rare you might not catch that a expert would. I just look on interwebz and what people are gettig for them not what they are asking. I'm no expert but I do collect. Good luck

Depends upon what the proof sets are. If they are proof sets of US currency then they may have them in "The Red Book" of coins. It has values of all US Coins ever produced and what the values are. It also give detailed description of the coins. More info on the coins than most will care to know about. The book can be had at most book store for about $12.

Also, if any of you are interested in selling your coin sets post them up as I may be interested.
