I know it has been posted before here for an easy way to check the firearm to see if it has been stolen can anyone tell me how?

Think the consensus has ended up being no, unless you have a friend who is an LEO who can run the serial for you. There is a website that is tracks guns reported stolen, but it is only if the person reporting them puts the serials in the database - it doesn't search law enforcement databases,to my knowledge. Don't remember the website, either, but I'm sure someone here can remember it.
