I have a Beretta NEOS Carbine that I just like shooting,,,
It's lightweight and is reliable as the day is long.

I realize it will never be a precision target rifle,,,
But the dang thing is just "Sci-Fi Sexy".

I had a 4X BSA Tactical scope mounted on it,,,
Sitting at the bench I could hold a 1.5 to 2" group,,,
But the one thing it wasn't was quick on target acquisition.

I had a few Cabela Bucks saved up so I ordered an inexpensive reflex sight for it,,,
I got it mounted and took it to the range yesterday to sight it in.

I definitely lost a lot of precision at 50 yards,,,
My group size increased in size to about a 4 to 5" pattern,,,
But as I had hoped it did make target acquisition much quicker/easier.

My best friend has a six year old daughter who we are going to teach to shoot,,,
He saw those videos of that very young toe-headed girl on youtube,,,
He's dying to see if his girl will take to shooting as well.

I bought her a "nerf" shotgun a few months back,,,
He's been teaching her "Range Rules" with it,,,
She can hit a paper plate across the room.

Anyways, I have a Crickett single-shot to get her started with,,,
But that will be just for reinforcing range safety,,,
And getting her used to the noise and recoil.

The NEOS Carbine is light enough for her,,,
It's certainly small enough even for her little hands.

This will never be a rifle for precision target accuracy,,,
I'm thinking it will do for paper plates at 15 yards.

I'm thinking that for my "Faux Paper Plate Challenge" targets,,,
This little carbine will work just fine to get her started.

We're just waiting for fall and not-so-brutal heat at the range.
