Was in Academy off of 240 today and their ammo shelves are totally full of ammo, except for .22lr. Who would have thought .223 and .45 ACP would become training rounds for .22 proficiency???
I would love to have an AR but don't want to pay the price for a 223 version. I often thought of buying a .22 version and about the time I was ready, .22 ammo became scarce. I attribute it to the .22 AR variants, but who knows. It's capitalism at its finest! Supply and demand rules the marketplace. Maybe it's Obama trying to eliminate gun ownership from the grass roots by taking .22s away from the younger generations! Trouble is, there are so many ways around that, that will never happen. 223s aren't that bad of a first training caliber either and I see more of that in the market now.
