Just another heads up ..I was at standard steel today recycling some scrap
and noticed they have a bunch of wheel weights and soft lead.
They even had a thick brass goose about 8-9" long liked like a hood ornament would but it was not a hood ornament.

Wings and neck stretched out,, I almost bought it..But put it back on the barrel of scrap brass

Do they sell to individuals? Thinking the scrap yard here in Duncan no longer sells to individuals. Any idea what they were trying to get for it. Sitting on about 400 lbs so i wont be needing any real soon but it's a sickness...

It is a sickness.. when I casted up 1000 200gr bullets I found lead does not go as far as you think.

Last check it was 85cents a lb
Standard scrap iron also has a new steel selling section on the other side of reno,, so that is one scrap iron outfit that does have an Oklahoma sales license.

That is usually what keeps the other outfits from selling to individuals.

Yes they sell all kinds of stuff including used by the pound aluminum and steel sheet,, seen some copper or brass sheets also yesterday

Most of the scrap yards I frequented back in the day would sell to individuals at market price .
Most of my casting these days are for my ,38spl plinker rounds I shoot instead of 22lr and for my 45-70. I casted up enought for the other 20 something calibers years ago. Although I have had a re-interest in soft shooting 30-30 rounds and may need yo warm that mold up this winter.
I still have tons if ww from long ago. Plus I scored about 150 lbs of linotype a while back too.

Standard is getting .80 cents now. They seem to have ww most of the time. Picked up a 5 gallon bucket about 2/3 full there yesterday. By the way that's about all the bail on a metal bucket will stand. It kinda forms to your hand when you pick it up. It stays but just barely.

Is that .80 cents for sorted wheel weights or was there zinc weights mixed in?

Sorted out to clip type no stick ons. Haven't dug through the bucket yet so I can't say for sure what's in it other than on top. They guy on the dock referred to then as clean. I'll know more later this week when I dig through them.

You can load the bucket yourself pick through all the weights and they have lead pipe also.
If you get steel or zinc ones it is on you the buyer as they let you dig through it all and load it yourself.

They sometimes have 55gallon barrels of brass cases also.. I scored a bunch of 38special and 357mag
