This is that 6.5x300 mark 5 weatherby

Looks like a very appropriate barrel length for a Weatherby mag too

As an aside, - i have been talking to a couple of 'smiths about assembling a long range rifle for me based on a Vanguard/Howa action in .300 Weatherby and i recall a guy trying to steer me towards a Creedmoor - stating
"You know, with those big overbore magnums - your barrel life is really going to be compromised - you might not get but 1500-2000 rounds out of it !"

---- i just politely acknowledged his statement and thanked him for the information and giving me something to ponder - but walked away thinking

"How many rounds of .300 Weatherby does the guy think im going to be shooting" -- theres a ton of these rifles out there that are decades old and probably havent seen even a hundred rounds in their lifetime. If he had stated it would be a 250 round barrel , that might give me a little bit of pause , but 1500 is absolutely not a factor

Mine, would be close between my Encore 6.5 Creedmoor and my Franchi Momentum .30-06.

Think the Encore is louder, but you feel the Franchi through your core.

Hoping to build a really noisy .300 Blackout with suppressor (if ATF ever "quickly" approves my paperwork!)

I had a Ruger 7mag with a brake. I didn't think it was that bad, but anybody on the firing line hated it.

5 pages in and nobody has had the pleasure of a Ruger Blackhawk .30 Carbine?
I was in the end lane (8), leisurely shooting my Single Six. 2 20-somethings set up in the next lane (7). 1st jackwad has a Desert Eagle .50AE. He let's loose with rounds. Steps back and they both are laughing.
I shoot another cylinder of .22 LR. 2nd jackwad steps up and fires a BFR .45-70.
OK, that's how you want to play, I load up the .30 Carbine, reach as far forward of the divider as I can and angle to shoot their target. First shot, shooter in lane 1 yells, "WTH was THAT?" I hear behind me, ".30 Carbine"
The 2 jackwads were packing to leave. I picked up my Single Six and continued on.

Definitely the .30 carbine blackhawk, but also, blackhawks in .327 federal magnum. I swear I can still feel my teeth vibrating from the .30

Short mosin nagants are pretty wild.
