M&P 40c mag release

Is there any way to make the magazine not release so easily on an M&P 40c?

I think they designed the button to stick out a bit farther than they should have, the spring could use more tension and or the catch inside could be a little longer. I have found that I can accidentally pop the mag out when holstering the gun. Kind of worries me as a carry gun that the mag releases so easily. Other than that it's a great gun.

I called S&W and apparently all their service guys are on vacation right now. The guy I talked to couldn't think of anything that can be done. I need to call back after the service guys return in a couple weeks.

My mag was popping out after every shot, after calling S&W, I should be getting my new release mechanism (or whatever it's called) any day now.

No the spring is fine. Just not stiff enough.

Sounds like they have a serious design flaw with the 40c that they need to address.

My full-size has performed just fine.

PM me with a price on that POS. I might take it off your hands.

S&W had a design problem, and it only lasted a short time.
It mostly affected .40 compacts.
They fixed the problem quickly, but it is frustrating if you get one.

Call S&W, they will send you a new mag catch.
If that doesn't help, call them again.....they will eventually replace the frame.

What kind of holster are you using?
