M4: Colt vs. BCM

What's the difference in BCG's of both rifles. Full or semi? Coated with anything? Properly staked keys? Etc...

Another thing? Do they both have same kind of buffer tube? Or some fancy enhanced stronger type of design? I have crushed cheap BT's

From the looks of it, that upper has a full auto carrier and it's coated with something other than old grey dry ****.

The Colt is nice and resale on it will be higher. However, I went with a BCM lightweight 14.5" pinned midlength instead. Softer shooting, quicker transitions and you can extend the support hand farther out for better control. You won't be going wrong with either one though.

Here's mine. I can't remember how much I have in it, but it's nowhere near 2K. Probably a little over $1450 as it sits, excluding the Aimpoint & mount in the bottom pic. Keep in mind that the Battle Comp was about $150 of that cost and the Geissele SSA trigger another $150.

I too went with the 14.5" LW.

I removed the a2x and pinned my SPR/M4 mount (still over 16")

Then I shaved the FSB and added an 11" Troy TRX-E.

I'm happy with it now and think I'm done with this upper.

Yeah I'm being harsh I guess. I think colt sucks because they're overpriced because of the name. I wont ever own one myself. There are better optipns for the same or less money aka LOKI and BCM
