I recently acquired an M44 Mosin. I’ve never seen a Mosin Nagant in this condition and thought I would share it. It looks to have never been fired. All of the bluing is perfect not even scratched. The wood is in great shape. The rifling is bright and looks brand new. Please share your thoughts on this rifle.

I had one for a long time but sold it a couple years ago when the values went way up.

Best thing about the m44 is shooting hot ammo at dusk! Heck of a muzzle flash lol

Nice. I've seen blueing that is good like that, but I think someone stripped the commie varnish of the stock and did a quality refinishing. What's the year?

1946. Definitely the original finish. It was still covered in cosmoline when I picked it up.

I think I got its sister, also a 1946 Izhevsk. Looks like it was built then packed in A crate. Doesn't even have the bolt dent on the wood. Cosmo soaked in wood past the varnish though discoloring it

What’s the recoil on one of those? I bought one a few years ago and have yet to fire it. Mine has the Soviet hammer and sickle on it. Kind of cool.

I just inherited a 1946r and and unopened spam cans. Mine is a Century Arms import without bayonet but has the big corncob muzzle brake to ensure it is as loud as the fireball looks.
