Good guy! 20 years ago i got a piece of to me exotic steel and asked him how to heat treat it. He gladly offered me the information to do it right. It was AEB-L.

Josh Smith, the master bladesmith behind the Montana Knife Company, said when he was 12, he used to set up at the same tables as Devin Thomas at knife shows. FWIW, Josh’s name is in the Acknowledgements at the start of Larrin’s book, The Story of Knife Steel.
