Memorial Tattoo/November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month

On Oct. 1, 2012 my fiancé Murelyn Daub had a seizure in the bathtub while I was at work and passed away. Yesterday I got the Epilepsy Awareness Butterfly tattooed on my chest as a memorial tattoo. The wings are green because green was her favorite color.

As the co-owner of 3 tattoo shops and a former tattoo artist myself it was always an emotional and rewarding experience for me to tattoo something meaningful on somebody versus the usual endless amount of generic flash that people brought into the shop with them or the thousands of tribal arm bands and tramp stamps I think I have done. Most all artists would rather be doing totally custom work or something meaningful like this and when they do get to they are very happy, so know that your artist was most likely as touched by this tattoo as much as you.
