Yesterday, Michael Savage went on a rant about George Zimmerman and how it was wrong for him to carry a loaded gun. It's one thing for somebody to express their opinion about guns, but to be gun igorant while doing it just makes it worse. Savage started off by saying that he has a concealed carry permit and then claimed to be a gun expert. He criticized George Zimmerman for carrying his Kel-Tec 9MM cocked, locked and the safety off. The Kel-Tec is a double action, so that was not really accurate. Savage was using incorrect terms constantly as he was describing cocking the gun to put a round into the chamber. And pulling the hammer back to cock the gun. And only a fool carries a loaded gun. I really could not believe what I was hearing. For someone that criticizes public officials for their ignorant comments, his were no different last night.

One morning I listened to the radio as Neal Boortz was talking about his .357 Magnum Glock. I really hope he was talking about a 357 Sig but he said 357 magnum plain as day. DOH!

That's the problem with putting too much faith in talking head entertainers who pass themselves off as die-hard conservatives/libertarians. In the end, they are human and extremely fallible.

I could have been very understanding if he had simply misspoken. I've listened to lectures and speeches from experts on a variety of subjects and every one of them is prone to misspeak from time to time depending on the length of their speech. But the rate that Savage was making errors clearly indicated that he was neither an expert nor somebody that spoke about the subject often.

Just out of curiosity, is there a .357 cartridge that is NOT a magnum? In other words, is there a similar parallel in 357 like there is with .38 caliber and .38 Special?

If there isn't a non-magnum .357 caliber cartridge, then Glock does have a .357 model.

Glock 31

Boortz said his Glock was a 357 "MAGNUM". Period. I heard it myself. A Glock 31, 32, or 33 is a 357 Sig. If Boortz had simply said 357 one would assume he meant 357 Sig. He didn't.
