Did anyone watch the AK-47 show?
About 3/4 of the way through Garry James says of Mikhail Kalashnikov " he's very unassuming when you consider how many deaths he's responsible for".
That kind of stunned me coming from a "gun" guy. I thought we were kind of in agreement that whoever pulled the trigger was responsible for the deaths, not the firearm or the manufacturer. Evidently I was mistaken. I realize it was just a remark, but, I wouldn't have made it on camera.
Still it was a good show.

I was surprised to see the amount of what appeared to be flex in the barrels when the AK is fired.. in slow motion there looked like a lot of flex... but then it could have just been a 'optical illusion'.

That was no illusion. Guns flex when fired. Especially stamped metal guns and those with thin barrels. Not just AK's, so don't discount them for that. Some super grade AK's such as VEPR's use heavy barrels and thicker bulged RPK style trunnions to eliminate some of that. Having a milled receiver also makes for a stronger receiver.

Likely, the 1st murder was committed with a rock so to me that negates some of the blame the gun and ammo makers take for people who misuse them...I suppose you could make the argument that very indirectly, he has involvement, but you could also do the same with many other things like cars, prescription drugs, etc...LOL. If the AK had never been invented, then the enemy would have used something else in its place.

Did he make the argument like this: "you didn't shoot that guy...somebody else made that happen.."

PS I am hoping at least 99% of people on this board got that joke.
