Midwest City Burglaries?

My wife said the MWC PD put out an automated phone message today about a rash of burglaries in MWC. Advising people to keep homes locked, use their alarm systems, and report suspicous activity.

Anyone have any more detail?

The call was a reminder to call if you see something. The last couple burglaries in mwc have been witnessed by neighbors, but they did not call because they were not sure what was happening. It was a reassurance that when in doubt, call! The numbers are not out of the ordinary. Its a good reminder.

Random gun shots after dark were the norm when I lived at Sooner and Reno years ago

I'm in the outer edges near Choctaw. Quiet out there...only one break-in in my neighborhood in about 10 years and scuttlebutt is that it was an inside insurance job.

i've lived in the same MWC neighborhood for 33yrs, never been broke into (knocking on wooden head )

I grew up in Choctaw and miss being away from town. After college I lived on the east side of MWC (Oakwood East) and it wasn't bad at all. Just far enough out where you can still see the stars at night.

I always lol at all the metro folks that are afraid of mwc. I have lived here 15 years and have never had any problems. People are sometimes aghast when I tell them I live in mwc.
