Its a high pressure/velocity 77gr round. There is also the marksman accuracy, which is a 77gr round developed for the military under contract.
I just dont see why Mk262 is desired. I have seen SMK 77s that are within SAAMI specs group better than Black Hills Mk262. Like almost an inch better at 100yrds. Hornady TAP 75s have outperformed Mk262 as well using SAAMI specs, though groupings at 100yrds are usually only .5" better.
The faster it goes, the more deader things get.
So we are talking rounds for SD?
Never though using reloads was a "great" idea for SD.
At any rate, same velocities can be achieved using Sierras load data for their 77s. link
I dunno what the OP is wanting, but Mk262 is pretty effective on both biped and quadruped varmints.
Mk262 is classified as an Open-Tip Match round...both the 77 SMK and the 75 Hornady Match are HPBTs.
I have no idea if it's legal for deer, but I hear it does wonders on hogs!
