I bubba'd a long eye relief pistol scope onto my 91/30 rifle. If you knock out the rear sight, you'll find a hidden 3/8" dovetail rail. From there you can use a 3/8" dovetail to picatinny rails adaptor or 3/8" scope rings. Great part about using a long eye relief scope is that I can use the straight bolt and not have to pay to have a custom bent bolt installed. I can also still use stripper clips to load the gun. :D

Jeff Cooper is either really proud right now or rollin' in his grave.

Well I'm proud of you.

I think it's goofy not to do something you want to an old military gun that is plentiful, as well as cheap. Let the "original" guys squawk. You made it a more better shooter.

Will give a range report Saturday, hopefully. An 8"-10" eye relief is about perfect for a LER scope on a mosin. Be sure to get medium height scope rings. If the scope is large, you may need the high rise rings or use the 3/8" to picatinny rails adaptor and picatinny scope rings to give it extra height.

I actually have a really nice pre-war hex 91/30 made in 1932 with all matching parts and excellent rifling that I keep stock. I got this one second from Honeybee in the group buy a couple months ago with the sole intention of bubba'ing out :D
