I think he was a good-hearted, well intended politician, but as president, he's probably thankful for jo and ho to bump him outta being worse president in modern times.

The more I've been reading about ol Jimmy since his passing on from this mortal coil the less I respect him , he routinely worked against the national interests when it suited him to the point of being accused of treason on more than one occasion after leaving office. He was an activist and far more progressive than people are giving him credit for being.

You and I clearly have different memories of Carter , no one expected great things from Jimmy he was the choice made cause people were upset about Watergate and Ford's pardon of Nixon.

It wasn't optimism it was a knee jerk . The economy was way better under Tricky Dick unless you like double digit inflation and interest. Yeah those Carter years were awesome so awesome the old man got a sweet heart interest rate of 12% when they bought a new home close to the end of Carter's term . Jimmy Carter was able to take 6% interest rates of the early 1970's and double them. No never mind everything Carter did on the world stage weakened America .

Trump's first term we had an economy that was on fire after those 1 to 2% booms of Obama . Trump didn't get us in any wars and he didn't appease every despot that came down the pike . Yeah I'd say we have a comparison already

Was Jimmy Carter's heart in the right place? I am not sure to this day. Only good I think he has done has been Habitat for Humanity, and I think that is a stretch. Why do we have a nuclear waste problem and few nuclear power plants... Jimmy Carter, signed into law the legislation which ended nuclear waste recycling, which is one if not the best way to deal with it in many ways. He stunted nuclear power, partially due to Three Mile Island. An unimpressive president, but biden and obama were way worse. Why was obama worse? He destroyed 40 years of improving race relations and the economy got worse on purpose, he new what he was doing. Carter was simply out of his depth.
