I headed to south Texas last week for my yearly predator hunt. My cousin was supposed to have went but backed out at the last minute so I went solo this year. I stayed at the ranch and hunted for 4 days and managed to kill some coyotes but it was the worst hunting I have ever had down there in 15 years. Not sure if it is the lack of rain or what but it was a tough hunt. Last year we were calling in a coyote on every other stand and 3 years ago we called up 8 bobcats in one day so my expectations were high to say the least.
I did manage to take the largest bobcat of my life sunday morning. Not sure what it weighed but he was a giant.

Here is a big snake I saw in the road. Not sure what it was but it was at least 5 or 6 feet long.

After helping the land owner catch some coons I put a camera over the carcass pile and this is all I got.

The land owner wants me to come back in a month and try for some more coyotes. Wait and see what happens I guess.

Nice Scott! Wish it would have been better for you. We seldom heard any coyotes on our trip down there this year. I heard 2 barking a long way away one morning and the guys called in 1 on a morning hunt but we never had a single one respond to night calling nor a bobcat. I was sure expecting better too.

I was waiting for this post to see how you did! Looks like it could have been worse. Did you try out the LidCam? I haven't had the opportunity to get mine outdoors, only time I tried it out was indoors... bow chicky boww..... HA!

Congrats on the cats and dogs!

I didn't read the directions for the camera before I left. From what I can see you have to hook it up to a tv and set it up before you use it so no I didn't get any video. For everyone that didn't know, okie4570 gave us all a new lid cam video camera for taking him hunting a couple of weeks ago. He's a very gracious man!
Hey r00s7a I read all your posts on shed hunting, bought the book, studied it and look I went and found me a shed! Didn't really think about an alternate use for the camera. That changes everything!
