That action pic is a stock pic, my action got shipped yesterday. It'll be black nitride.

As for thumbrest the MPA chassis has their vertical grip which does have a nice thumbrest. The Cadex does not, but I really like the vertical grip, so if I keep the Cadex, I will probably buy one of the grips to put on it, which will add a thumbrest. They're about $50, I think.

You should get the smith that chambers your barrel to use the same chamber reamer and make your reloading dies.
