I know this is an old thread...but if you continue the leather down to go ahead and cover the muzzle you can eliminate any front sight snag issues. It won't make the holster any bulkier and even though you have a sight track molded in, once you start to draw the pistol it can rotate and possibly snag.
Also, I think having your holster and mag seperate is a better option.
