Need an engine rebuilt in a 2001 Corvette

Check for play on the crank pulley/dampner. It is a known issue on C5 and C6 Corvettes. They can make some weird noises when the rubber inside deteriorates.

Also the driveshaft couplers inside the torque tube can fail. They turn at engine RPM and make similar noises.

Definitely check the harmonic balancer, they will make weird noises when they're getting bad. Just had mine replaced in my C6 corvette, it was making a squeaking noise.
