This is not 100% true on GM's. My 2001 Silverado only required pulling the dace face off, then push 2 spring tabs and the entire factory radio slid out. It is easy though, as said by the dash kit, wiring harness (dont forget the antenna adapter) and it should only take about 30 minutes to install it yourself.

It's pretty easy to do yourself. I've probably done several dozen at this point for myself/family/friends.

If you're intent on using a shop, Boomers Audio in Tulsa is the place I'd go to. I've known Mike (the owner of the shop) for a few years now and he's always taken care of me. Chris (one of their workers) does top notch install and fabrication work.

If I wasn't so much of a DIYer nowaday, I'd have all my work done their still.
