Ok so for christmas my wife wants a Zepplin (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_749ZEP...html?tp=47746&kw=&org=pla&nw=g&crv=6734643505). The only reason she wants it is so she can play music from her phone over it and not have to plug it in. So here is what I'm thinking. If I could find a quality home theater that does the same thing, we would get more use out of it. I see some that are wifi enabled, but I don't enough about these dang things. Im looking to be around the $400-$500 mark. Any help would be appreciated.

That looks pretty expensive for what it is. if its an iphone I'd look into getting something that can also do surround sound for the TV and connecting an airport Express or maybe an apple TV to it. Then you could play music from your computer ( itunes) or phone

I know, that is what I'm wanting to do. I'm asking for suggestions on a surround sound that will support airplay

I have a Samsung blu-ray player/6 speaker surround system that streams video through wireless connection or hard wired ethernet cable. It has a dock that allows an I-phone to play music through it. I have been really happy with the system. I think the model is BD-1250, but they have had several models come out since that one. I noticed some Samsung players at Sam's also.

You can get an apple AirPort Extreme and put it in your network and place it at the receiver you want to use. They have a headphone type out jack on them.

I have very similar to this setup:

Onkyo NR414 receiver (I have the older NR609) $229 right now.

ONKYO SKS-HT540 7.1Ch speakers - I have this exact set. They work. My wife won't hardly let me turn them up. $199 - I picked them up on sale for $150.

Apple TV I have the previous gen, basically the same just the new one does 1080p vs mine is 720p. $99

The receiver has a iphone / ipod app if you hook it up to your network, mine *the 6xx series* does upscaling - don't know about the 4xx series. You can mirroring with the aTV and iphones: ie, anything you see on the iphone screen you see on the TV.
