New cutting the cord & antenna questions

Looking for help from those that may have similar experience.

Recently dropped DishTv and went full streaming, but would like to reinstall an antenna for local channels. I may be able to install an antenna using the existing satellite mount. However, the hight of the antenna may not be sufficient.

Back in 2020 we lived in an airstream for 6 weeks and picked up local channels with the very old airstream antenna. I'm about 60 or more miles from OKC TV and a little closer to Tulsa stations.

Antenna Man on YouTube says the mount will work but need to be close enough for reception and need to change out the splitter. Existing cables should work.

I may also be able to mount an antenna to my wireless internet pole at is about 100' from the house.

Either mount would work, but of course the higher you can get it the better. Someone recommended this one a year ago or so. I installed it in my attic and it pulls stations from all over. I've got it on a simple 1" flag pole mount.

I'm 20 miles east of Stillwater. I can pick up some of the OKC and Tulsa stations with a strong inside antenna. ABC is iffy at times. No OETA. I'm on a high spot though.

I have a small roof mount antenna i bought 6 or 7 years ago and haven't taken it out of the box and my beat up large antenna that we used before. I'd like to try the new one first. A friend that lives nearby said she can get okc stations with an inside antenna. Some kind of amplified one may be necessary.
That may be the simplest solution if it works.

I ran a string in the conduit when I installed the internet pole by the shop. The pole is 40' and will get a signal above the trees, but I'll have to run cable out to it or would a splitter for the internet signal work? It's close to 100' to the pole.

Just remember the signal will go thru the trees now, but not next spring when the leaves come out.

Ughh, you need starlink in your life if you're going to truly cut the cord. What you probably need is something like this and just use however many of the splitter ports you need and leave the other capped. I have a big version of this in my attic, but live way closer to the towers than you do. My father helped me put it in years ago and he doesn't do things by halves.

Skip the splitter and run your antenna into a stream box like an HD Homerun. That way you won't lose signal strength and picture quality through splitting the signal. Then you stream it to your tvs through an app.

They can usually be built with scrap in the garage.
Add a cheap signal/antenna amp off Amazon and you'll be surprised.
This has outperformed many 100-150 mile VHF directionals I've had. I presently have builds working in Edmond, Del City, Guthrie, Seminole, and Stillwater. I'm not saying they're the best, but they do work very well for a 60 mile antenna. Also be aware that though it is built and described as an omnidirectional, it can be manipulated and improve signal from certain positions rendering it as somewhat directional. I've never tried it with a reflector but if receiving from one primary direction I can't help but believe it would improve signal strength. Does pretty good job on FM signal too.
