Zee dial calipers are your friend, Mon Ami!
I am watching zee Pink Panther 1 &2 with Steve Martin.
Funny, but no Peter Sellers.

I thought it was a requirement of all gun owners to have a set of dial calipers.
measuring gun parts, case length, bore dia. adjusting feed lips, etc.

I got a set from O'Reilly's for $22.00. Works good with digital readout. Home Depot has some for less but they're about as accurate as my prediction of the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl.

Most sight manufacturers will advertise their light pipe dimensions. The fiber optic tube will be several thousands of an inch smaller than the sight hole that it goes into. That's why one needs a bic lighter to melt and mushroom the ends so it stays in place.
You can make the mushroom as big or small as you want by keeping the heat on there longer.

I checked mine from the center par of the rod. I'm going to try to leave a bit on the back side of the sight before heating to see if I can make the front end a bit larger and how it would look and function.
