Hopefully there will be enough anti-Obama backlash for the GOP to do well in the 2014 midterms. But I'm not optimistic about the 2016 elections. At all. The demographics are bad for the GOP and just getting worse and worse every year. Different people have different ideas on how to address that but _right now_ the numbers say the GOP can't win a Presidential election. It would take a really weak or damaged Democrat and a really strong Republican.

How do we fix it? How do we get more young people into the party? How do we get more women into the party? Obama was a special case so he drew even more of the black vote.... once the Democratic candidate is white, the Republicans _should_ be able to draw back some black middle and upper class voters. But right now it is the Hispanic vote that is killing the GOP. Bush 43 was able to win a big chunk of that vote. But Romney did very poorly. Like it or not, that's the swing vote right now. That and getting more women!!

Quit alienating the biggest, most influential voting block in the U.S.: the white voters, particularly white males.

None of the candidates are alienating any majority of white male voters. That demographic is more split along party lines than any other group.

The GOP has however done a superlative job of alienating women, Hispanic and black voters. It takes a concerted effort to alienate Catholic Hispanics and religious, non-homosexual blacks against "the conservative choice", but by golly they've done it! :(
