I’ve been loading for my shotguns for about 25 years and rifles for about 15 years. I’ve been wanting to get into handgun reloading for years, but after weighing the cost of getting set up, I always ended up backing out. The new legislation in CA requiring a background check and registration to buy ammo and my fear that the insanity will spread was just the incentive I needed to take the plunge.
I located a used Dillon XL650 set up for 9mm, 45acp, 223, and 300BO that also included powder, primers, brass, and a lighted loading bench.
Now to learn how to use it...

When setting up just do one shell at a time with the locator pins out so you can remove and reinstall. When one die is set do the next one. Don't overthink it, you can use it just about like a single stage if you want. When you are ready to "go", then and only then, "go". The more fiddling you do with it, the more likely bad things happen. Once you are dialed in it's probably the hardest press to double charge there is. You have to really work at screwing up. Congrats, you got a great machine...
