Anyone know about this crap?

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal
tax form all guns that you have or own. It may require fingerprints
and a tax of $50 per gun.

This bill was introduced on Feb.. 24. This bill will become public
knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to
the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance
Committee can pass this without the Senate voting on it at all.

The full text of the proposed amendment is on the U.S.
Senate homepage, http://www.senate.gov/ You can find the bill by doing
a search by the bill number, SB-2099.

I actually got an email from the NRA the other day saying this was just a bunch of old rumors getting stirred up again, and that they weren't true back when they were new.

I have no doubt our socialist government wants our guns. So many people have their ear to the ground right now that it is easy to get rumors started. My wife posted something in here from the Clinton era a couple of weeks ago under my name. She heard about and freaked before doing her research. It is good people are at least looking out for our rights.

Sad thing is this will get the sky is falling treatment and soon we will have a real bill that will go right past us as we do nothing thinking " how silly is that".

Who stirs these rumors up and spams them all over the country? And for what purpose?

What's their motivation?

instigating fear.
You see the gun related spam on this board. After 15+ years of IT work, I've seen just about every single version of this sort of scare tactic.

No one should EVER forward (or post) ANY "chain" type email without, at least, googling it first. most are readily identifiable as crap with minimal legwork.
