Pretty good point, not having to travel or drive in NYC,NY. That comment put it in perspective for me. Sound kind of cheap now. It is hard to dine out anywhere and feed, 4 or more adults without spending more than a Benjaman, even if you just go to an average place. Seems like meals start at $12.00 per person and go up fast and hard if you add any quality. Even eating a Choice Graded Steak at Home Start at $12.00 to 18.00 a pound, depending on cut. I like to have at least 16 ounces per person. Then HIgh Choice or Prime, I no longer even look at those prices. Dining out pretty much Doubles, home prices, add Atmosphere or music, I have never been to one of those places. looked in a window at a Ruth Kris years ago in Jackson, MS. Well I did get to eat there once in the 80's, it was $100.00 per person for a Rib Eye and Two Beers. I was disappointed, I was used to Steaks cooked over Mesquite fire and coals. Still prefer beef cooked with wood fire, Mesquite or Hickory either. Here's the deal. I've been wanting some Katz deli food for years. I'm betting, if you were walk in and buy 4 sandwiches and drink plus tip, you'd be close to $150. I have enough food delivered that will make 6-8 sandwiches and no tip or drinks for under $225. Plus, I don't have to step foot in NYC. Sometimes, you have to step out of your comfort zone.
There's a Charley's Steak House here that we go to about every three or four years. It's expensive as all get out, but you only live once. You sure aren't taking the money with you when you die and it's almost guaranteed the kids will fight over what's left.Pretty good point, not having to travel or drive in NYC,NY. I fixed a Pastrami, cheese, rye bread, mustard-based sandwich spread and Russian dressing with sauerkraut today. Yum!Pastrami and Ruben sammiches are definitely well within my comfort zone.
Sound perfectly sober and rational to me.Drunk again?
