Yep, not only did Hussen Obama run on the platform of McCain being another George Bush, Obama has continued his surveillance program and expanded it.

You'll notice it's a UK based newspaper that broke the story...not a US based newspaper.
In light of what happened witht the Fox News reporter, I'd imagine that U.S. media is now afraid to break a story like this.
After all, this was done to "save lives."

Also of interest was that it was illegal for Verizon to tell customers this was happening.
Say "buh-bye" to Verizon wireless.

When the public is being told that the government will not keep NICs checks and will shred hard copy data dealing with gun transfers...I believe them.
They'll shred it after they've scanned it into a database.

On a happier note, I cancelled Verizon last fall after being unhappy with their rates.

When I had Verison, I wasn't sure if I was talking to a call center in India, or the El Queda.

I expect the media overseas will be checking on the rest of the wireless services.

If I was a CEO with Verizon, I'd make sure that my competitors were exposed also.

Probably because they have a good international calling plan.

I can see it now: "Verizon, the choice of knowledgeable terrorists worldwide! Tired of your roadside IED's having missed detonation calls? Verison has the largest 4G network, so your bombs go off the first time, every time, no matter where you go or who you target..."

LOL

So why only Verizon? When can we expect these same orders to come down on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile?
It's likely that they've been the subject of warrants, as well, but these warrants are coming from the FISA court, which is set up specifically to handle secret warrants. It was originally intended to deal with foreign agents operating in the US, but the PATRIOT Act expanded their reach to cover terrorism investigations.

At least this involved court-issued warrants, rather than the patently un-Constitutional "National Security Letters." Those are a complete crock of shite.

In digital era, privacy must be a priority. Is it just me, or is secret blanket surveillance obscenely outrageous? http://ow.ly/lKS13
